MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Jessie Ruden and UW-Whitewater's Aleah Grundahl were chosen the Co-Players of the Year to lead the individuals selected to the 2022 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Basketball Team by the league coaches.
Ruden secured first teams honors for the second straight year and leads the conference with 18.8 points per game, 77 three-point field goals made and 36.2 minutes per contest, while ranking fourth with a .803 free-throw percentage and eighth with a .350 three-point field goal percentage. She has eclipsed the 20-point mark in 12 of 28 contests, including a career-high 31 points in the title game of the WIAC Tournament. Ruden's eight three-point field goals against St. Norbert College (Wis.) on Nov. 23, 2021, rank second in conference archives.
Tyra Boettcher (Sr. - Menomonie, WI) was also named a All-WIAC 1st team recipient. Boettcher is in her second year with the Blugolds after transferring from Mankato State-Minn. in 2020. Boettcher currently ranks 6th in the WIAC in scoring and 9th in rebounding. She alsosecond on the team with 343 points and third in three pointers made (27)
Also earning All-WIAC awards was Courtney Crouch (Jr. - White Bear Lake, MN), Jade Ganski (So. - Rothschild, WI/Newman Catholic), and Ellie Clayton (Sr. - Lakeville, MN/Farmington). Crouch earned Honorable Mention honors after finishing 7th in WIAC scoring (317), third in field goal percentage (48.9%), and fifth in assists (69). Ganksi was named to the All-Defensive team after leading the league in blocks (90) and finishing 2nd in defensive rebounding (171). Clayton was named to the All-Sportsmanship team in her final season as a Blugold.
