Blugolds Shutout in Second Straight Game

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Blugolds.com) — The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team dropped its second game in as many days, this time at the hands of Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.). It was also the second straight game they were shutout and lost 1-0.

Concordia-Moorhead got on the board early scoring in the 18th minute and they were able to hold the Blugolds off and protect the lead.

The Blugolds were outshot 12-5 by the 23rd ranked Concordia-Moorhead. The Cobbers were ranked 23rd in the nation in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Oct. 9 rankings.

Nina Behrenbrinker
(Jr.-St.Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) made six saves in goal for the Blugolds, meanwhile UW-Eau Claire had four shots on goal in the contest.

After winning seven straight games, the Blugolds have now lost two straight and have fallen to 8-6-1 this year. They also are now just 2-5 on the road this year.

They will be on the road again on Wednesday to take on St. Thomas (Minn.) in St. Paul, Minn.

Next Saturday UW-Eau Claire will host the alumni game at Bollinger Field at 1 p.m. The Blugolds will play their final regular season home game of the year on Sunday against Wartburg (Iowa) at 2 p.m.
