EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team scored a late goal to take a lead but Concordia University (Wis.) quickly responded and the teams played to a 2-2 overtime tie at Hobbs Ice Center today.

With the score 1-1 after two periods, Kelli Johnson (Sr.-Farmington, Minn.) found the back of the net at 16:52 on a power-play to give the Blugolds a 2-1 lead. Taylor Jenkins (Jr.-Austin, Minn.) and Kristin Faber (Sr.-Austin, Minn.) assisted on the goal.

But just over a minute later, Dani Kerr (So.-Little Canada, Minn./Roseville), who scored the Blugolds' first goal of the game, was sent to the penalty box, giving the Falcons a power-play opportunity. Concordia's Sarah Luberda capitalized on the chance and scored at 18:30 to tie the game back up.

While Concordia outshot Eau Claire in the overtime period, neither team would score a goal and the game ended in a tie. Concordia also had a big third period, outshooting Eau Claire 21-7 to finish the game with 41 shots to the Blugolds' 23.

Playing the entire game in the goal for Eau Claire was Mara Stormer (So.-Waunakee, Wis.). She stopped 39 Falcon shots and now has a 7-1-4 record on the season.

Eau Claire has not lost in 10 straight contests, holding a 7-0-3 record since the beginning of the new year. The Blugolds last loss came on December 12, 2010.

Eau Claire is now 12-5-4 on the season and 9-4-3 in NCHA play. Concordia stands at 11-9-3 overall and 9-6-3 in the conference.

The Blugolds have four games left in the regular season and all of them will be played on the road. Next weekend Eau Claire head to Michigan to face Adrian College. Friday's action will get underway at 7 p.m. (Eastern) while Saturday's game will start at 2 p.m. (Eastern).
