Blugold divers earn top marks at Point Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's diving teams competed at the UW-Stevens Point Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Blugolds swept the top two spots in the men's competition and achieved NCAA Zone cuts in the process, and also produced the women's winner.

Martin Kocher (Sr. - St. Paul, Minn.) and Ben Koller (Jr. - Savage, Minn./Shakopee) took first and second place, respectively, for UW-Eau Claire. Kocher scored a 480.85 and Koller followed with a 450.90. They bested third place by nearly 30 points and achieved NCAA Zone cuts.

Sarah Dahlk (Sr. - Verona, Wis./Middleton) won the women's three-meter competition with a score of 419.05. Zibby Hanifl (So. - Northfield, Minn.) placed fifth for the Blugolds.

The meet was an 11-dive meet.

The Blugolds also had divers compete at the University of Chicago on Saturday as an exhibition.

UW-Eau Claire returns to the pool with a dual against UW-Whitewater on Saturday, Jan. 28, in Whitewater. Competition is set to begin at 1 p.m.
