EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team hosted the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's)/NCGA West Regional on Saturday, with the Blugolds placing seventh.
The Blugolds tallied a 177.075 while UW-Oshkosh took home the team title with a 189.675.
Abby Weber (Fr. - Sartell, MN) lead Eau Claire on vault with a 9.250 (28th) and on beam with an 8.850 (34th) while Christina Leikam (Fr. – Aurora, CO/Cherokee Trail) recorded a 9.100 24th) on bars. On the floor exercise, Emma Barry (Fr. – Allen Park, MI) tied for 28th with a 9.300.
The top 10 from each region on each event advance to the NCGA Championship, plus the top five highest season average scores going into the tournament. The qualifying teams are the top three from the West and East Regional.
