ST. PETER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team traveled to Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday, falling to the Golden Gusties, 177.975-176.525.
Ashley Benes (Jr. - Grand Rapids, MN) led the Blugolds on vault, winning the event with a 9.525 while Jordan Ehde (Sr. - Stillwater, MN) placed second on the balance beam with an 8.875. Ehde also placed third on the uneven parallel bars (9.025), fifth on the vault (9.175) and eight on the floor exercise (8.825) to finish third in the all-round, tallying a score of 35.900.
Danielle Malecha (So. - Inver Grove Heights, MN/Rosemount) also had a strong meet for Eau Claire, finishing third on the beam with an 8.800 and fourth on the bars with a 8.975.
The Blugolds will be back in action Tuesday, January 21st as they host Winona State University at 6 p.m. for Youth Day.
