Men's Cross Country Distributes Team Awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's cross country team handed out this year's team awards this past weekend at the annual team banquet.

Jeremy Kieser (Sr.-Verona, Wis.) was named the Most Valuable Runner. Kieser competed in seven different events this season and finished the year with All-American honors at the NCAA Championship after finishing in 15th place. He helped lead the team to a 10th-place finish, the best result the team has ever achieved at the NCAA Championship. At the WIAC Championship, he took eighth and helped the team to a second place finish, its best finish since 1989.

Receiving Most Improved honors was Adam Moline (So.-Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata). He competed in six meets this year, including nationals, where he came in 78th place overall. At the NCAA Regional the week before, he claimed 26th place to earn All-Region recognition.

Nick Petersson (Fr.-Brookfield, Wis./Central) was selected the Most Valuable Freshman. Competing in six events this season, Petersson took 42nd at the WIAC Championship, and the following weekend he won the Luther College JV Cup.

Earning the Blugold Award was Aaron Easker (Sr.-Eland, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood). Competing in six meets this season, Easker capped the year taking 27th place at the NCAA Championship to earn All-American honors. Easker was fourth at the WIAC Championship and at the NCAA Regional. A season ago, Easker was named the team's Most Valuable Runner.

Easker and Conor Rafferty (Sr.-Menomonee, Wis.) were also presented with four-year letter awards.
