Men's Cross Country Finishes Third at Griak Invitational

SAINT PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The 30th-ranked UW-Eau Claire men's cross country team finished in third place out of 27 teams at the 2012 Roy Griak Invitational at Les Bolstad Golf Course today.

The Blugolds scored 102 points while UW-La Crosse won with 45. UW-Platteville came in third with 96. A season ago, the Blugolds finished fifth at the Griak Invite.

Jeremy Kieser (Sr.-Verona, Wis.) led the Blugolds as he finished in fourth place out of 272 runners. He crossed the finish line with a time of 25:47.

Coming in next for Eau Claire was Aaron Easker (Sr.-Eland, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) with a time of 26:05.9, in seventh place.

Two other Blugold runners finished in the top 30. Matt Scott (Jr.-Kiel, Wis.) came in 27th with a time of 26:39.5 while Adam Moline (So.-Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata) was 30th with a time 26:43.9.

The Blugolds will have next weekend off and will next be in action at the Brooks Invitational at UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 13. Action will get underway at 10:30 a.m.
