MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has revealed its award winners for the 2023 men's indoor track & field season based on voting by the league coaches. UW-Eau Claire's Yakob Ekoue (Sr. - Hopkins, Minn.) earned the Kwik Trip Field Performer of the Meet during his performance at the 2023 WIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Ekoue won the shot put with a heave of 56-10 (17.32m) and placed second in the 35-pound weight throw with a fling of 59-11 (18.26m).
Yakob and the Blugolds are back in action on Friday, March 10 as they travel to Birmingham, Ala. for day one of the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
