Turner Named WIAC Women’s Hockey Athlete of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire women's hockey goalkeeper Paige Turner (Jr.-Iron River, WI/Duluth East) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women's hockey Athlete of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Turner was a key component for the Blugolds who earned their first WIAC point in two years in a weekend series with No. 6-ranked UW-Stevens Point.  In a 3-3 tie with the Pointers on Dec. 5, Turner saved 37 shots playing all 65 minutes in net.  In a 2-1 loss at UW-Stevens Point the following night, Turner saved 45-of-47 shots between the pipes.  It was the fourth 40-plus save performance for Turner this season.
