Women's tennis earns academic honors

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — Every individual member of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team received Scholar Athlete designations from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, and the Blugolds were collectively named an ITA All-Academic Team for the 2023 season.

ITA Release

In order to be named an All-Academic Team, a program must have maintained a team grade point average of 3.2 or above. Individually, all 11 of the Blugolds were named Scholar Athletes by maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.5. The Scholar Athletes are Tea Armstrong (So. - Blue Earth, Minn./Blue Earth Area), Hailey Beisel (Fr. - Rosemount, Minn.), Morgan Dekan (So. - Altoona, Wis.), Samantha Fuchs (So. - DeForest, Wis.), Sophie Geske (So. - Rochester, Minn./John Marshall), Liv Herzog (Fr. - Owatonna, Minn.), Anna Lee (Fr. - Buffalo, Minn.), Morgan Nelson (Jr. - Beaver Dam, Wis.), Clare Palen (Jr. - Rochester, Minn./Lourdes), Sydney Presler (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) and Mary Shogren (Jr. - Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine).
