Women's tennis falls at Carleton

OWATONNA, Minn. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team fell to Carleton College 8-1 in a dual on Sunday. The Blugolds picked up their sole match victory at No. 1 doubles.

Results

The doubles team of Samantha Fuchs (So. - DeForest, Wis.) and Clare Palen (Jr. - Rochester, Minn./Lourdes) prevailed 8-2 in the top doubles flight. The Blugolds fell at No. 2 doubles 8-2 and 8-5 in No. 3 doubles.

Carleton swept all the singles matches, although three of the contests went to a third set. Palen, Sydney Presler (Sr. - Eau Claire, Wis./Altoona) and Liv Herzog (Fr. - Owatonna, Minn.) all forced a decisive third set int heir matches by winning the second set.

The Blugolds will return to action on Sunday, March 5, with a visit to Lake Forest (Ill.). The dual is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m.
