LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming & diving team finished with two event victories but came up short at UW-La Crosse 146-88 today.
In addition to two wins, Eau Claire also had seven runner-up performances.
In the third event of the day, Lisa Reed (So.-Duluth, Minn./East) won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:14.57. She was also second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:31.28.
Diver Amanda Baker (Fr.-Hudson, Wis.) claimed the other victory for Eau Claire, winning the three-meter dive with a score of 241.
Grace Fair (Sr.-Monticello, Minn.) took second in two events, the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. She finished the 50-yard event with a time of 25.27 seconds while taking second in the 100-yard with a time of 55.61 seconds.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Sara Eggebrecht (Sr.-Abbotsford, Wis./Colby) was second with a time of 1:02.17 while Maggie Reilly (Jr.-Saint Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertsville) was runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.77.
Coming in second in the 100-yard breaststroke was Emily Behrens (Jr.-Faribault, Minn.) with a time of 1:10.02.
In the 200-yard medley relay, Eggebrecht, Behrens, Reilly and Fair took second with a time of 1:50.57.
Next weekend, the Blugolds will host MSU-Moorhead, UW-River Falls and UW-Oshkosh in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
