Women's Hockey falls to Falcons

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team hosted UW-River Falls at Hobbs Ice Arena on Friday night, falling to the Falcons by a score of 5-1.

The visiting Falcons scored in each period, including three goals in the first. Eau Claire got on the board in the second, thanks to a Taylar Meier (Fr. – River Falls, WI/Columbine (CO)) goal which was assisted by Eden Gruber (Fr. – Wausau, WI/West) and Sydney Johnson (Fr. – Apple Valley, MN).

River Falls out-shot Eau Claire 37-15 on the night while Maddy Jablonski (Fr. – Greenville, WI) and Addie Young (Jr. - Superior, WI) led the Blugold offense with four shots apiece.

Kylah Krause (So. - Belleville, IL/East) recorded 32 saves on the night and falls to 2-1 on the season.

The Blugolds will receive a bye for the first round of the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver's) and will host a semifinal round game on Wednesday, March 10th at Hobbs Ice Arena.
