MADISON, Wis.--The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Matt Moore (So. - Stillwater, MN) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Baseball Athlete of the Week for the week of March 28 - April 3.
Moore made history on March 29, as he threw the first complete game shutout since UW-Eau Claire reinstated baseball in 2020 and the first in his career. In his first WIAC game of the year, Moore's historic day from the rubber included 11 strikeouts and three walks. He scattered five hits from 35 UW-Oshkosh batters faced in his nine innings pitched. In his second game of the week, Moore faced UW-Stout on April 2, and pitched 6.2 innings, collected nine strikeouts, while allowing only four walks and three runs on three hits.
