Five Blugolds Earn WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week Honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Quincy Kabe (So. - Buffalo, MN), Sarah Dahlk (Sr. - Verona, WI/Middleton), Lindsey Henderson (Sr. - Prior Lake, MN), Elaine Franta (Jr. - White Bear Lake, MN) and Kendra Baierl (Sr. - Marshfield, W/Columbus Catholic) have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

In a 174-37 dual meet victory against UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 16, Kabe won both one-meter and three-meter diving competitions. He secured the one-meter with a scores of 260.90 and three-meter with a 270.85. 

In a 177.50-51.50 dual meet victory against UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 16, Dahlk won the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scores of 222.95 and 211.25, respectively.  

Henderson and Franta represented the Blugolds at the ITA National Tournament in Rome, Ga. During their run at ITA Nationals, Henderson and Franta defeated the No. 1 seed from New Jersey. Henderson and Franta were a dynamic duo this season for the Blugolds finding success in almost every match up. 

Baierl contributed 26 kills on a .467 attack percentage and averaged 1.25 blocks per set to propel the Blugolds to a 3-0 week. In a WIAC showdown with UW-La Crosse on Oct. 15, she contributed 11 kills and six blocks. Against Illinois Wesleyan University, Baierl added four blocks to her 15 kills, while attacking at a .619 clip to lead the Blugolds to the three match sweep.
