MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey player Hanna Zavoral (St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, it was announced today by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek. Zavoral scored three goals and had an assist in the No. 10-ranked Blugolds’ sweep of UW-Stevens Point over the weekend. In a 4-1 win over the Pointers on Feb.1, she picked up her seventh goal of the season at the end of the second period. The next day, in UW-Eau Claire’s 9-1 victory, Zavoral scored on the Blugold power-play at the 19:48 mark in the first period, and scored again at the 1:07 mark in the second period. This was her third multi-goal game of the season, she also tallied an assist. The Blugold women are looking to win their 9th game in a row on Feb. 9, at UW-River Falls.
