Schwamberger Earns WIAC Coach of the Year Honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - For the sixth year in a row, UW-Eau Claire men's and women's cross country coach Dan Schwamberger has been selected as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country Coach of the Year, based on voting conducted by the league coaches.

Schwamberger won the coaching award for a league-record sixth straight year and directed the Blugold women's squad to its sixth consecutive WIAC championship. The Blugolds also won the Midwest Regional and finished fifth at the national meet. Schwamberger completed his sixth season at the helm of the Blugolds.

The Blugold men also had a good year, finishing in second place in the WIAC, the team's best finish since 1989. They were fifth at regionals and 10th at nationals, the best result the men have ever acheived at the NCAA Division III Championship.
