Women's Cross Country Finishes Third at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational

WINNECONNE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team grabbed a third place finish today at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational. The team was one of 37 teams competing at the invite.

The Blugolds finished with 115 points, falling one point short of the University of Chicago, which came in second place with 114. Calvin won the invite with a team total of 91 points.

Ashlyn Mauer (Sr.-Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) had a fourth-place finish, completing the course with a time of 21:45.

Two other Eau Claire saw finishes in the top fifteen this morning as well.  Madi Sawyer (Jr.-Champlin, Minn./Park) made an 11th place finish with a time of 22:15. Steph Sjostrom (Sr.-Champlin, Minn./Park) came in just five seconds later, picking up a 13th place finish with a time of 22:20.

The Blugolds will be back in action next Friday, Oct. 19 at the Lake Wissota Invitational which gets underway at 4:00 p.m.
