Women's Cross Country Wins Saint Mary's Invitational

WINONA, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team narrowly won the 2012 Saint Mary's University Invitational today.

The Blugolds came in first with 40 points while UW-La Crosse was second with 41. Saint Mary's finished third with 70.

Four Blugolds finished in the top 10 while eight finished in the top 30.

Leading Eau Claire was Clara Williamson (Fr.-Skokie, Ill./Niles North), who finished in third place with a time of 24:34.9.

Michelle Brunshidle (Sr.-Hammond, Wis./St. Croix Central) was fifth with a time of 24:48.6. Rubi Rojas (Fr.-Waterloo, Wis.) and Emily Holman (So.-Rochester, Minn./Century) finished in ninth and 10th, respectively, with time of 24:59.2 and 24:59.7.

Tomorrow, other members of the team will compete at the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational. The race is set to begin at 9 a.m.
