Women’s Swimming and Diving Place 7th at Rochester Invitational

ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team competed in its last competition before the end of the fall semester at the Rochester Invitational finishing seventh out of 10 teams here today at the Rochester Swim Club.

Allie Hable (Jr.-Ankeny, IA) earned third place honors in the 50 Freestyle in a time of 24.08 seconds.  Hable qualified for the finals with a preliminary time of 24.14 seconds.

Lisa Reed (Sr.-Duluth, MN/East) took seventh place in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 18:00.93.  Rachel Treadway (Jr.-Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) finished eighth in the 400 IM posting a finals time of 4:43.36 while Elissa Hermsen (So.-Waunakee, WI) placed eighth in the 200 Butterfly finishing with a time of 2:16.83.  Both Treadway and Hermsen qualified for the A Finals with preliminary times of 4:41.07 and 2:13.63, respectively.

The 800 Freestyle Relay team of Sidney Fairbrother (Jr.-Maple Plain, MN/Orono), Emma Smith (Sr.-Hales Corners, WI/Whitnall), Hermsen and Reed finished in eighth place with a time of 7:59.73.

The Blugolds will return to the pool on Friday, January 23 when the swimmers will compete in the UW-Stevens Point Invitational while the divers will host the UW-Eau Claire Diving Invitational.
