Blugold Divers to Compete at National Meet

CHICAGO, Ill. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's diving team will send two divers to the NCAA Division III national meet, following their performance at the regional hosted by the University of Chicago.

Eau Claire had three divers quality for the regional meet, Sara Axness (Jr. Eau Claire, WI), Amanda Baker (Jr. Hudson, WI), and Kate French (Jr.-Hartland, WI).

In the 1 Meter, Axness finished third overall with a score of 496.80 while Baker was 13th scoring 426.75, and French came in 20th recording a score of 410.30.

In the 3 Meter, Axness again led the way for the Blugolds, this time taking second with a score of 490.10. Baker's score of 469.90 put her in fifth place while French's 426.00 put her in 13th.

Axness will move on to nationals in both the 1 Meter and 3 Meter while teammate Amanda Baker qualified on the 3 Meter Dive. Both will compete on March 18 at the Conroe Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
