Women's Swimming Takes Fourth At UWSP Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Stevens Point for the UW-Stevens Point Invite and UW-Stevens Point Diving Invitational.

 Results

The Blugolds finished fourth, scoring 751.5 total points.

Lisa Reed (Sr. Duluth, Minn.) finished well in several events, finishing second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:19.97), second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.80), and third in the 1650-yard freestyle (18:16.04).

Elissa Hermsen (So. Waunakee, Wis.) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:18.48, Rachel Treadway (Jr. Cottage Grove, Minn.) finished second in the 400-yard individual medley at 4:50.22, Maddie Gray (Jr. Roseville, Minn.) finished third at 2:13.83, and Allie Hable (Jr. Ankeny, Iowa) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.82.

One relay team—composed of Sidney Fairbrother (Jr. Maple Plain, Minn.), Sarah Tainter (So. Plover, Wis.), Emma Smith (Sr. Hales Corners, Wis.), and Reed—came in second in the 800-yard relay at 8:16.40.

Sara Axness (Jr. Eau Claire, Wis.) finished first in both the one meter and three meter dive with a score of 465.35 and 455.45 respectively, while Amanda Baker (Jr. Hudson, Wis.) finished second in the one meter dive and fifth in the three meter dive with scores of 414.15 and 385.10 respectively. Kate French (Jr. Hartland, Wis.) took third in the 3 meter dive with a score of 391.45.

The Blugolds return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 as they welcome Whitewater.
