Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Three Events at First Home Meet

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – In their first home meet of the season, the UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team won three individual events against UW-Stevens Point and NCAA Division II St. Cloud State here today at the McPhee Physical Education Center.

St. Cloud State defeated UW-Stevens Point 204-96 and beat UW-Eau Claire 211.50-88.50. Stevens Point edged Eau Claire 152.50-147.50.

Allie Hable (Jr.-Ankeny, IA) won the 50 Freestyle in a time of 25.37 seconds.  Elissa Hermsen (So.-Waunakee, WI) finished second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:00.95 and third in the 200 Butterfly in 2:17.62.  Rachel Treadway (Jr.-Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:20.54.

Amanda Baker (Jr.-Hudson, WI) won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.  Sara Axness (Jr.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) placed second in both events while Kate French (Jr.-Hartland, WI/Arrowhead) finished third in the three-meter dive.

The Blugolds will travel to St. Peter, Minnesota for a dual meet against Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, November 1.  Action is set for a 1 p.m. start.
