Hable Earns All-American Honors in 50 Yard Freestyle

SHENANDOAH, Texas (Blugolds.com) – Blugold swimmer Allie Hable (Jr.-Ankeny, IA) claimed All-American honors in the 50 yard freestyle at the NCAA Division III National Championships Friday at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.

Hable finished with a time of 23.50 in her preliminary heat early in the day, placing her eighth for finals and locking up a spot on the podium. In the finals on Friday night, the junior clocked in with a time of 23.64 to finish in eighth place.

In the 3 meter diving competition, Amanda Baker (Jr. Hudson, WI) fell just short of All-American status, finishing ninth overall. The junior turned in a score of 409.35 in the preliminary round and recorded a 427.15 in the finals. Fellow diver Sara Axness (Jr. Eau Claire, WI) finished 11th, scoring a 387.75 in the prelims and 417.15 in the finals.

Baker and Axness will compete in the 1 meter diving competition on Friday, with the prelims taking place in the morning session and finals in the evening session. Hable will swim in the 100 meter freestyle, which will take place on Saturday.
