Women’s Swimming & Diving Competes in Dual at Minnesota State-Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team competed in a dual meet at Minnesota State-Moorhead where they were outscored by the Dragons 164-136 here today.

Divers Sara Axness (Jr.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) and Amanda Baker (Jr.-Hudson, WI) swept top honors in the one-meter and three-meter dives.  Axness won the one-meter with a score of 455.55 points and the three-meter dive totaling 475.15 points.  Baker places second in both events posting scores of 438.8 and 415.05 points, respectively.

Lisa Reed (Sr.-Duluth, MN/East) won the 200 and 500 Freestyle events.  Reed won the 200 in a time of 2:00.37 while winning the 500 clocking in at 5:22.37.

Elissa Hermsen (So.-Waunakee, WI) also won two events on the day, winning the 100 Butterfly in a time 1:01.12 and the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:15.8.

Allie Hable (Jr.-Ankeny, IA) won the 50 Freestyle completing the race in 24.86 seconds.  Emma Smith (Sr.-Hales Corners, WI/Whitnall) won the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 11:13.8.  Rachel Treadway (Jr.-Cottage Grove, MN/East Ridge) won the 400 IM in a time of 4:50.78 while finishing second in the 200 Butterfly in 2:19.24.

The Blugolds will finish out the fall semester competing in the Rochester Invitational which will take place from December 5-7.
