MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Stephanie Martin (Sr. - Yorktown, Pa./Tabb) is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week in women's hockey for the week of Feb. 13-19. The goalie helped the Blugolds upend top-ranked UW-River Falls 7-4 on Feb. 17 and tie the Falcons 1-1 on Feb. 18.
Martin made 56 saves across two games as the Blugolds beat and tied No. 1-ranked UW-River Falls on Feb. 17 and 18. She stopped 28 shots in a 7-4 victory on Feb. 17, and helped shut down one power play opportunity for the Falcons. Martin added 28 saves on Feb. 18, limiting the nation's top-ranked team to one goal across three periods and an overtime. She also thwarted two Falcon attempts in the ensuing shootout.
