Seven Blugolds receive WIAC Awards

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) office announced the 2020 All-WIAC men's hockey awards on Friday, with seven Blugold athletes receiving honors.

Jake Bresser (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) earned first team All-WIAC for the second time in his career. Bresser has 15 goals, 16 assists, and is +32 in regard to +/-. In his senior season, he also has five game-winning goals and only six penalty minutes through 27 games.

Zach Dyment (Jr. – Abbotsford, BC/Yale Secondary) also earned first team All-WIAC honors for his first conference award. Dyment has 18 wins, 506 saves, and a goal against average of just 1.31 through the 23 games he has played this year. He has 45 wins to his name all-time and a career win percentage of 74.2%. 

Adam Parsells (Jr. – Wausau, WI/West) earned first team All-WIAC for the second time in his career. With eight goals, 16 assists, and a +23 in regard to +/-, Parsells has been a force on the defensive end for the Blugolds and has hit 50 career points in just his third year at Eau Claire.

Andrew McGlynn (So. – St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers College) earned All-WIAC honorable mention honors in just his second season with Eau Claire. McGlynn's 26 points this season places him 3rd amongst the team and third in scoring.

Jon Richards (Jr. – Callaway, MN/Detroit Lakes) also earned All-WIAC honorable mention recognition. His 12 goals and 16 assists have him towards the top of the team and conference in scoring and offensive production.

Logan Von Ruden (Sr. – Northfield, MN) was also named to the All-WIAC honorable mention list. The senior captain surpassed his 100th game played in the semifinal series vs. UW-Superior on February 29th. Von Ruden has posted 23 points during his four years at Eau Claire and has been a defensive staple to the Blugold blue line.

 In addition, Jarrad Vroman (So. – Lincoln Park, MI/St. Francis Cabrini) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team for Eau Claire.

 The Blugolds are currently ranked #4 in the nation by USCHO.com and will play for the WIAC Championship on Saturday, March 7th against UW-Stevens Point.
