The first tally of the night came just a little over five minutes into the opening period as Andrew McGlynn (So. – St. Louis, MO/Christian Brothers College) would glide through the middle and redirect the puck past the Blue Devil goalie to give the home squad a 1-0 lead.

The second period would start with more offensive power as Jon Richards (Jr. – Callaway, MN/Detroit Lakes) would rifle a wide angled shot on net that would sneak under the goalie to make it 2-0. The Blugolds would continue with momentum with a powerplay goal from Nick Techel (Wausau, WI/West) and increase the lead to 3-0. Andrew McGlynn would seal the deal in the third after rifling a shot home from the slot making it 4-0.

Goaltender Zach Dyment (Jr. – Abbotsford, BC/Yale Secondary) would stop all 16 shots he faced and earned his fifth shutout of the season. Dyment is now 13-2-2 on the season.

The Blugolds will be on the road for the remainder of the regular season starting with a weekend series in Ashland, WI next Friday and Saturday against Northland College. The first game is set for 7 PM and the next is scheduled for 3 PM
