Blugolds come up short against Pointers

Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey team completed their two game series against UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. After dropping the first game on the road a night prior, the Blugolds came up short on home ice, losing 3-0.

Eau Claire would fall behind in the first two periods despite outshooting the Pointers 23 to 15. They would finish the game leading the shot category 36 to 24 but it would not be enough to get past the Pointer goalie.

Goaltender Zach Dyment (Jr. – Abbotsford, BC/Yale Secondary) would save 21 of the 24 shots he faced and drops his record to 8-2-1.

The Blugolds (10-2-1) will be off until the New Year and will be back on the ice on Saturday, January 11th when they host Lawrence University.
