Team Award Winners Announced for Men's Golf

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team recently distributed its annual team awards, head coach Mike Greer announced.

Selected as the team's most valuable golfer was Jimmy Hutchings (Sr.-Hudson, Wis.). Hutchings led the Blugolds this season averaging 75.1 strokes while golfing 20 rounds at 10 different events. He finished in the top 10 six times and in the top five three times while winning one event, the Bobby Krig Invitational on April 23. Over the course of his career, Hutchings competed in 62 rounds and had an average score of 76.6. He was also named to the Division III PING All-Central Region Team.

Jake Brookshaw (Sr.-River Falls, Wis.) was named the most improved golfer. Brookshaw was third on the team this year with an average of 76.5 strokes per round. He finished 10th or better three times this season and fifth or better twice. He finished his career with an average of 78 strokes per round, golfing a total of 51 rounds.

Tim McCormick (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) was selected as team captain for next season. McCormick was second on the team with an average of 75.7 strokes per round this season. He finished 10th or better twice, including one second-place finish.
