Men's Golf Takes Fourth at Spring Opener

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team finished in fourth place with 307 strokes at the 2012 Saint John's University Territory Triangular tournament to open the spring season.

Saint John's won the event with 297 strokes while Concordia-Moorhead was second with 298. A second Saint John's team finished in third with 303 strokes.

Concordia's Pat Dietz took home medalist honors with 70 strokes in the 27-golfer field.

Ben Brooks (So.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) led Eau Claire as he tied for seventh with 75 strokes, three above par.

Four other Blugolds finished tied for 16th or better.

Next up, the Blugolds will compete at the UW-Stout Invitational on April 16.
