Men's Golf Finishes Second at MSOE Invite

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – With a low score of 294 on day two of the MSOE Invitational, the UW-Eau Claire men's golf team moved up two spots to finish in second place out of 10 teams at the two-day tournament.

Carthage College finished with 601 strokes to win, while the Blugolds had 602. Edgewood College was third with 606.

Edgewood's Brent Quade finished with medalist honors as he shot 137 (six under par).

The Blugolds' Ben Brooks (So.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) tied for second place with 146 and two other Blugolds finished 10th or better in the field of 66 golfers.

Jake Brookshaw (Sr.-River Falls, Wis.) came in fifth place with 148 strokes while Jimmy Hutchings (Sr.-Hudson, Wis.) tied for 10th with 153.

In 21st place was Tim McCormick (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) with 156 strokes and Jamie Krula (Sr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chi-Hi) shot 158 to tie for 27th place.

The Blugolds will wrap up their fall season next weekend (October 8-10) with the Gustavus Adolphus Twin Cities Classic.
