Men's Golf in Seventh After Round One of Invite

SAUK CENTRE, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team is in seventh place out of 21 teams after round one of the Saint John's Fall Invitational at Greystone Golf Course.

The University of Manitoba (Canada) holds the top spot with 306 strokes while a second team from Manitoba is in second place with 311. The University of St. Thomas (Minn.) is in third with 312 while the Blugolds shot 319 today.

Concordia-Moorhead's Pat Deitz leads the 115-golfer field with an even score of 72.

For Eau Claire, both Jimmy Hutchings (So.-Hudson, Wis.) and Tim McCormick (Jr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) are leading the way with 79 strokes, tied for 23rd.

Sunday's final round of 18 holes is scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell, Minn.
