EAU CLAIRE (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team put three runners at the top of the race as well as under the 20-minute barrier today at the "City Wells" Invitational.
The Invitational, hosted by UW-Eau Claire, also featured Viterbo University.
Callie Fischer (Fr.-Oneida, Wis./Ashwaubenon) led the charge by crossing the line first in a 5K time of 19:41. Not far behind was Lian Arzbecker (Fr.-Pewaukee, WI), who finished second just three seconds off of Fischer in a time of 19:44. Brianna Nelson (Fr.-Jefferson, WI) came in third place in a time of 19:57.
Laura Crave (Jr.-Waterloo, WI) and Nicole Cisewski (So.-Plover, WI/SPASH) rounded out the top five for the Blugolds by coming in fifth and sixth place, respectively, in times of 20:09 and 20:12.
Up next for the Blugolds is the WIAC Championship hosted by UW-La Crosse on Saturday, November 1. Race time is set for 1 p.m.
