Soccer "Playing for a Cause" Sunday

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire soccer team will be "Playing for a Cause" this Sunday in its game against Macalester College (Minn.) at 3 p.m. at the Bollinger Fields.

The event is part of a larger Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference initiative where each of the nine WIAC schools select a cause and bring awareness to help support it.

The Blugolds have selected to support the Sojourner House in Eau Claire, which helps the homeless. More information can be found on their Web site at http://www.cclse.org/sojournerhouse.php

Spectators on Sunday are asked to bring clothing, food and cash donations. Everything collected will be donated to the Sojourner House.

The Blugolds have already competed in one WIAC "Playing for a Cause" event at UW-Stevens Point on September 17 and will play in another on October 12 at UW-Stout. Additionally, the team will help at the community table this week.
