MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire soccer team won its second game in a row with a 3-1 victory over Augsburg College (Minn.) at Edor Nelson Field tonight.

The Blugolds (3-1), who beat St. Benedict (Minn.) 1-0 last night, scored all three of their goals tonight in the opening half.

Katie Richter (Jr.-Waukesha, Wis./West) found the back of the net first with a shot from 25 yards out at 12:33. The goal was her first of the season.

Less than 12 minutes later, Paige LeGate (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) scored again for the Blugolds while Eva Popp (So.-Wauwatosa, Wis./West) pushed the Blugolds' lead to three at 43:10. Her goal, which was also her first of the year, came from a rebound off a corner kick.

Augsburg scored its lone goal just over eight minutes into the second half but the Blugolds maintained their two-goal lead the rest of the way.

The Blugolds led the shot count over Augsburg 21-13 and Blugold goalie Nina Behrenbrinker (So.-St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) made six saves while allowing just one goal playing all 90 minutes in-goal.

In the all-time series, the Blugolds maintain an unbeaten record against Augsburg as they improve to 13-0-2.

The Blugolds will play in their first home game of the season Wednesday when they host UW-Superior at 5 p.m. at the Bollinger Fields. The Blugolds have never lost to the Yellowjackets, holding a 19-0 record.
