EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team will host a Coaches vs. Cancer Night on February 15 when the UW-Platteville Pioneers come to town for a 7 p.m. game.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
Locally, the Blugolds have partnered with AAA, Charter Communications, Impact Advertising and Mayo Clinic Health System to help increase cancer awareness.
A number of giveaways and drawings are planned and all proceeds will go directly to American Cancer Society Midwest. A halftime drawing for a travel package is planned, and fans can enter the drawing by purchasing a t-shirt or making a donation at the front door.
