Youth Night set for February 1 Women's Basketball Game

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - A number of activities and giveaways are planned for the UW-Eau Claire women's basketball game February 1. The game against UW-Oshkosh has been designated as Youth Night and will start at 7 p.m. in Zorn Arena. The doors will open at 6 p.m. that night.

The Leader-Telegram is a corporate sponsor of the game and will have a halftime contest that will select five registered youths to shoot free throws and win up to $100 each in cash for two made free throws in 20 seconds. Additionally, 100 water bottles from the Leader-Telegram will be tossed into the crowd.

The Indianhead Kiwanians are also having a youth drawing during halftime for 12 basketballs autographed by the Blugold women's team.

Additional activities and giveaways planned are:

  • Blugold Buddies can wear their t-shirt to the game to get in for free (also, two youths will be admitted with each paid adult ticket)
  • Posters and autograph cards free at front door (players will stay on the court after the game to sign the autograph cards and posters)
  • Life size poster of Ellen Plendl will be displayed at the front door, sponsored by United Bank
  • United Bank will be handing out the "Ellen on a stick" shot blocking sticks to the first 300 kids through the door
