EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Veteran UW-Eau Claire women's basketball coach Tonja Englund and first-year coach Kyle Green have announced the pairings for their basketball tournaments this coming season.
Englund has scheduled a Tip-Off tournament for the first time ever and it is set Friday and Saturday, November 18-19. The field includes Illinois Wesleyan, Coe College (IA) and Ripon College. Illinois Wesleyan, which played in last season's NCAA Final Four, and Coe, a team that advanced to last year's NCAA Sweet 16, will play the opener at 6 p.m. while the Blugolds will take on Ripon at 8 p.m. The third place and championship games will be played at 3 and 5 p.m. Saturday.
The 43rd annual Eau Claire Holiday Classic will take place Thursday and Friday, December 29-30. This year's field includes Bethany Lutheran College from Mankato, Minnesota; Simpson College from Iowa; and Judson College from Illinois. Bethany and Simpson will meet in the opener at 5 p.m. while the Blugolds will battle Judson at 7 p.m. The third place and championship games will play at 5 and 7 p.m. the second night.
