Men's Tennis Falls Friday; Sunday Matches Cancelled

WINONA, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – Taking on Luther College (Iowa) on Friday in Winona, Minn., the UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team came up short 6-3. The Blugolds were also supposed to face two more opponents Sunday in Madison but the matches have been cancelled due to poor weather.

Results

Against Luther, the Blugolds won one doubles match and two singles matches.

Ryan Vande Linde (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and partner Joe Meier (Sr.-Hutchinson, Minn.) picked up an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Vande Linde also won at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2, while Conrad Felten (Fr.-Wausau, Wis./East) came from behind to win 6-7, 6-1, 10-3 at No. 6 singles.

Eau Claire is now 12-7 on the season while Luther improves to 18-5.

The Blugolds will be back in action at home Thursday against the College of St. Scholastica (Minn.), a match that was originally scheduled to be played in Duluth, Minn. on April 4. The event is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
