PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team lost in a close game to the UW-Platteville Pioneers, 56-48, on Bo Ryan Court in Williams Fieldhouse tonight.

After the first half rally, the Blugolds never managed to tie or lead for the remainder of the contest.

Despite the loss, the Blugolds out rebounded the Pioneers 38-33. The Blugolds have been well disciplined on the boards all year, out rebounding their opponents in every game this season.

The loss brought the Blugolds to 4-4 on the season. The team also fell to 0-2 in conference play after last weekend's loss to UW-La Crosse. With the win, UW-Platteville moves to 7-1 and 2-0 in the conference.
