Gymnastics Shines at Home Against Gusties

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team returned to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) action on Friday evening as they hosted the Gustavus Adolphus College Gusties in their second home dual of the year. The Blugolds had ten athletes earn a top-3 finish in their respective events as they earned their second win of the season, 184.850-183.750.

Results

With team scores exceeding 46 points in each event, UW-Eau Claire held a stellar performance at home. Harriet Toth (So. – Regina, SK/Martin) started things off with a second-place finish on the vault with a 9.475. On the bars, Tia Ravara (Jr. – San Leandro, Calif./Bishop O'Dowd) held the high score of the evening with a 9.450 to earn first place. Molly Campbell (Fr. – Lincoln, Neb./Northeast) was close behind with a 9.350 and a second-place finish.

As the Blugolds moved to the beam, the scores continued to rise. Molly Campbell recorded a personal best 9.500 on the beam and was the event champion of the evening. Christina Leikam (Sr. – Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail) and Lilliana Shank (Sr. – Elkhart, Ind./Concord) tied for third with a pair of 9.400's. Campbell continued her stellar night on the floor with a 9.400. Campbell earned the top all-around score of the evening with 37.425 points. Tia Ravara placed second amongst all-around competitors with a 36.675. Harriet Toth took third with 36.600 points.

The Blugolds will hit the road on Saturday, February 4th for a WIAC dual against UW-Whitewater. First rotations are scheduled for 4pm.
