Women's Gymnastics Sets Season High Point Total in Texas

DENTON, Texas. (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team traveled south for a nonconference quadrangular on Friday as they competed against Texas Women's University, Air Force, and Centenary College. Despite placing fourth, the Blugolds recorded a season high in total points with a 185.600.

Results

On the vault, Haiven Gipson (Fr. – Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) led the Blugolds with a 9.575 and a tie for 12th place out of 24 competitors. Harriet Toth (So. – Regina, SK/Martin) was close behind with a 9.425 and a 19th place finish. During the bars, Lilliana Shank (Sr. – Elkhart, Ind./Concord) scored the highest for UWEC with a 9.400 and a 12th place finish. Harriet Toth tied for 14th with a 9.200.

As the Blugolds took to the beam, Harriet Toth and Tia Ravara (Jr. – San Leandro, Calif./Bishop O'Dowd) continued to push the team with team high scores of 9.600. Toth and Ravara finished tied for 16th and Georgia Guynn (Fr. – Dallas, Texas/Plano East) placed 20th with a 9.300. On the floor, Molly Campbell (Fr. – Lincoln, Neb./Northeast) tied for 16th with a 9.550 and Harriet Toth finished 20th with a 9.475. Toth finished the evening in 4th place for all-around competitors with a total of 37.700 points. Ravara and Campbell were close behind with 37.350 and 34.900 points, respectively.

The Blugolds will return to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday, January 27th when they host Gustavus Adolphus College. First events are scheduled for 6PM.
