Women's Gymnastics Team Award Winners Announced

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team has announced the team award winners for the 2012-13 season.

For the second time in her career, Danielle Schulzetenberg (Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) was named the team's Most Valuable Performer. At nationals, where the Blugolds took fifth place, she finished in ninth place in the all-around to capture All-American honors for the fourth time in her career, the first Blugold in history to earn All-American honors in the all-around all four years. She finished with 36.475 points, a season-high score.

Most Dedicated honors went to Rachel Behmer (Sr.-Maple Gove, Minn./West Lutheran) for the second straight season. In 2009-10, Behmer also earned the team's Most Improved award. At nationals, Behmer tied for third on the uneven parallel bars as she finished with a career-high 9.625 points. She previously earned first team All-American honors on the uneven bars in 2011.

Taylor Custer (So.-Hudson, Ohio) earned Most Improved honors. Custer competed in eight different meets this season, eight times on the balance beam and once in the floor exercise. She reached a career-high in the opening meet this season at Central Michigan where she scored a 9.275.

RachelAnn Anderson (Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) was presented with the Most Spirited Award for the third year in a row.

Selected as captains for the 2013-14 season were Custer and Karla Hagen (Jr.-Chaseburg, Wis./Viroqua).
