Blugold Gymnasts Beat Hamline University

SAINT PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – With four different Blugolds winning four events, the UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team defeated Hamline University (Minn.) 183.475-180.425 in Walker Fieldhouse tonight.

As a team, the Blugolds reached season-high scores on the vault with a 46.500 and in the floor exercise with a 47.000.

Cece Solem (Sr.-Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley) took first on the vault with a score of 9.575, a career-best performance.

On the uneven parallel bars, Karla Hagen (Jr.-Chaseburg, Wis./Viroqua) won with a 9.150, just 0.025 from her career-high.

Michaela McCamey (Jr.-Dayton, Ohio) won on the balance beam as she finished with a career-best mark of 9.650.

Elizabeth Stubbs (Fr.-Wayzata, Minn.) recorded a 9.600 in the floor exercise as she finished in first place.

The Blugolds will be off for almost two weeks now with their next competition scheduled for Feb. 22. The meet will be against Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) and will be the Blugolds' final home meet of the season. It was be Parent/Senior Night and action will get underway at 6:30 p.m.
