Blugold Gymnasts Defeat UW-Stout at Home

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team came away with a close victory over conference opponent UW-Stout, winning 183.525-182.750 in the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight.

Olivia Aschenbrenner (Jr.-Cedarburg, Wis./Grafton) led the Blugolds on the balance beam as she won the event with a score of 9.575. The Blugolds took the top four spots in the event as they scored 46.650 while Stout had 45.800.

On the uneven bars, Aschenbrenner was also the top finisher for Eau Claire as she took second with a season-best 9.200. The Blue Devils finished with 45.400 points on the bars while the Blugolds had 44.900.

Danielle Schulzetenberg (Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) led the Blugolds on the vault with a score of 9.425, a season-high, to take second place. As a team, the Blugolds scored 46.075 points while the Blue Devils finished with 46.750.

In the floor exercise, Schulzetenberg was also Eau Claire's top finisher as she took second with a score of 9.425, a season-high. The Blugolds recorded 45.900 points in the event while Stout compiled a 44.800.

Saturday the Blugolds will be at UW-Whitewater for a competition beginning at 2 p.m.
