UW-Whitewater Edges UW-Eau Claire in Gymnastics Meet

WHITEWATER, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team traveled to Whitewater for a meet against UW-Whitewater but the Warhawks came away with a 184.200-178.325 win today.

Whitewater had the top finisher in all of the events, and won all of the events in terms of team score.

On the balance beam Michaela McCamey (Jr.-Dayton, Ohio/Homeschooled) scored a 9.500, a season-high, and finished second.

Also finishing second for the Blugolds was Julia Stedman (Fr.-Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul), who's 9.450 on the vault was a career-high.

On the uneven parallel bars Kellie Dougherty (Fr.-White Bear Lake, Minn.) scored an 8.875, which was enough to place fourth in the event.

Finally, Elizabeth Stubbs (Fr.-Wayzata, Minn.) scored a 9.125 on the floor exercise. She placed fifth in the event.

The Blugolds' next event will be next Friday when they travel to Oshkosh for a meet against UW-Oshkosh.  The event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
