Gymnasts Beat UW-Oshkosh with Season-High Score

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team recorded a season-high score of 183.100 to defeat UW-Oshkosh in the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight.

The Titans finished with a score of 178.575 as the Blugolds won four out of five events.

Taking the top spot in four events was Danielle Schulzetenberg (Jr.-Maple Grove, Minn.), who recorded season-best marks in the all-around, floor exercise, uneven bars and balance beam. She was first in the all-around with a score of 36.750 and had a 9.600 in the floor exercise. On the balance beam, Schulzetenberg recorded a 9.575 and finished with a 9.325 on the vault. She also had a season-high 8.250 on the uneven bars as she took ninth place.

On the uneven bars, Michaela McCamey (So.-Dayton, Ohio) had the Blugolds' best finish as she tied for third with a 9.050.

Next Saturday, the Blugolds will host the WIAC Championship, which also serves as the NCGA West Regional Qualifier. Action gets underway at 4 p.m.
