Gymnasts Finish Third at Gustavus Quadrangular

ST. PETER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team took third place out of four teams at the Gustavus Adolphus College Quadrangular today.

UW-La Crosse won the meet with 183.050 points while Winona State University (Minn.) was second with 179.550. The Blugolds were third with 177.050 and Gustavus was fourth with 174.550.

Olivia Aschenbrenner (So.-Cedarburg, Wis./Grafton) had the Blugolds' top finish of the day as she took second on the balance beam with a season-high score of 9.350. She finished in third place in the all-around competition with 35.500.

On the vault, Danielle Schulzetenberg (Jr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) had the Blugolds' best finish as she took third with 9.500, a season-high mark. She was also third on the balance beam and fifth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.400.

Rachel Behmer (Jr.-Maple Grove, Minn./West Lutheran) recorded Eau Claire's top finish on the uneven bars as she took third with a score of 9.100.

Friday the Blugolds will host UW-Oshkosh in the final meet of the regular season. Action will get underway at 6:30 p.m.
